How to Check and Fill Your Engine Oil

Here is a step by step guide on how to check your engine oil and fill it with more oil if need be.

Pop the hood of your car and find the oil dipstick which usually has a yellow or orange loop handle

Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a paper towel or rag

Put the dipstick back in and pull it out again. The oil should be at the top marker or at least close to it. If it is, you are all set. If not, go to the next step.

Grab your engine oil and unscrew the engine oil cap. Slowly pour oil in and check dipstick periodically to know when you are all set.
