Keep a Store-Bought Orchid Alive (Water-Only Method)

   Don't rush to repot or change the soil right after bringing it home.

   If you don't like the look, set it inside a nicer decorative pot.

   Wait until the flowers fade, then cut off the whole flower spike.

   Remove the nursery pot and insert two bamboo sticks for support.

   Get a clean container and pour in some water.

   Set the orchid on top so its base just touches the water.

   From then on, just top up the water when it gets low — nothing else.
