Sharpen a Drawing Pencil with a Blade

Steps

1. 1

   Use a cutter / X-Acto knife to peel off the wood around the tip, working over a sheet of paper to catch the shavings.

2. 2

   Keep shaving until a long length of graphite is exposed.

3. 3

   Sand the graphite down to a point on sandpaper.

4. 4

   Wipe the pencil clean with a tissue.

5. 5

   Your pencil is ready to draw with a long, fine point.
